Chandigarh Kidney foundation conducted a 'Brain dead' & 'Organ Donation' awareness program for Chandigarh police. We believe that since police is the first to respond in case of any mishap or road-accident and we feel it is our duty to equip the police with proper information and education on how to deal with brain dead person, how to identify, what steps to take, because organs saved from brain dead person can give lives to many other organ failure persons who are still living and may live a healthy life for many years to come, only if we educate enough people to take appropriate and correct steps in time. this is just a small step in that milestone to achieve that we have visioned for our organization. A free health check - camp was also organised for police at the event.

With the increase in people needing kidney transplant the need for compatible donor has gone up. There are lot of people with kidney failure awaiting a donor, to help people by cutting down the time involved in awaiting compatible donor. Chandigarh Kidney Foundation has come up with an app called 'iKIDNEY' (incompatible Kidney) which will bring people looking for compatible donor under one roof. For a patient, who requires kidney transplant a donor is required, and if there is already a donor in the family who is willing to donate but unable to do so due to tissue or blood group mismatch or antibodies can look for someone who is facing the same problem. Donors of two different family can swap their kidney which is called "swap kidney Transplant". iKIDNEY app will help bridge the gap between people by bringing them under the same roof. People will be able to register themselves on it and find them a suitable donor, "All for free". As per the human organ transplant act of India, kidney donor should be legitimate. Get the much delayed transplant done post suitable donor-recipient pairs are finalized.
